I’m known for my flora and fauna. In my west, Guwahati, features silk bazaar, tea and Brahmaputra.
And the hilltop ‘Temple Kamakhya’.
On Peacock Island sits Umananda.
I’m the traveller’s paradise,
In me the majestic one-horned Rhino reoxidize.
I’m the witness of Madan Kamdev and Hajo pilgrimage,
But I cry on your attack savage.
You boast of my vibrant culture,
And scenic beauty gives you divine rapture.
My Majuli, Haflong, Kaziranga, Chandubi, Manas and Pobitora.
You love my Wild water buffalo, pygmy hog,
My Masor Tenga makes your palette cavort.
I’m the freshness, blows slow breeze,
I give your brains the warm sun – relief.
I’ve Rang ghar, Kareng ghar, Tolatol ghar,
Namdang stone bridge and many more.
You step your feet and feel mesmerized
Sukhapha, Lachit, Bihu and Namghar make you Energized.
I always wish to see you happy
Though I take all the agony.
But I lay in trauma, grief and I yawn,
While I see you all are at daggers drawn.
