History vs Herstory

Her eyes are ingested by History
that she drags with her youth.
History entwines her arms…
Her soul smells past.
When she grins at her sky
Stars vie for routes to reach her.
Bickering to bedazzle her eyes they
soon stray…
And…
Blinking her unwary eyes
at those cozen stars,
She unwraps the aroma of history,
And savours the stars now sedated
to ‘herstory’.
